What is CE marking?

What is CE marking?

Recently we have told you about MID certification. We see that everyone has heard about certificates but only a few know anything about them in more detail. So this time we’ll explain CE marking – what’s it for and what it certifies.

The name of the certificate “CE” is an abbreviation from the French term “Conformité Européenne” which means “European Conformity”.  CE marking indicates that a product has been assessed by the manufacturer and deemed to meet EU safety, health and environmental protection requirements. That’s how CE marking ensures the free movement of the products inside the European Economic Area (EEA).

It’s important to note that not all the products are required to have CE marking to be sold inside the EEA. However, there are product groups that absolutely should have CE marking, for instance: toys, personal protection equipment, medical devices, electric appliances and machinery. CE marking usually if found on the products itself, on the packaging and/or in the product’s documentation. CE marking can be found on the products made outside the European Union as well.

All of the products sold by “PAWBOL Baltic” have CE marking. Let’s describe how it looks in the case of one of the Vexen thermostats. On the bottom of the product’s page, the CE certificate is attached, and CE marking is visible on the picture of the product itself. This way you can find certificates of conformity for almost all the products on our B2B portal. Some of the certificates are yet to be uploaded as we constantly update the portal. If you cannot find a specific certificate, please email us, and we’ll send it to you directly.

When you see CE marking on a product remember that the product is in compliance with the safety, health and environmental protection requirements of the European Union.
