This particular distribution box (see the picture below) “lives” in one of Latvia’s beautiful guest houses not far from Riga. It has been standing outside for seven years now and all that Latvian changeable weather was able to do to it – make its appearance a bit dirty. On good summer days when the sun is shining right upon it, the box is heated up to 50°C, and at night is cooled down to +12°C. In the winter months at night the temperature can be as low as -25°C, and in the daytime creep up to about -5°C. And it’s not a secret that all the year round Latvia faces a lot of rain, while in winter the box is usually covered by a snow blanket.
How do GT boxes manage to stay this durable?
- These enclosures are made of high-quality sheet steel – thicknesses from 1.2 mm to 2 mm. They are highly resistant to external mechanical factors – IK10.
- GT boxes are covered in polyester powder-paint that is UV-proof. They don’t change color, the paint doesn’t get microcracks, wetness can’t get inside the construction, therefore it is not prone to corrosion.
- For their montage steel screws are used with an extra seal of PVC pads.
- Poured polyurethane gasket on the door is providing IP66 protection.
