MID certification is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the EU Measuring Instruments Directive (Directive 2014/32/EU). The objective of the Directive is to ensure reliability and uniformity of measuring instruments meant for the use inside the EU, and also to reduce trading barriers in the European Union. MID certified instruments, including active electrical energy meters, are used, among other things, for levying taxes and duties. It means that meters without MID certification are not meant for commercial use. Only certified electrical energy meter can be used to precisely measure the electricity consumption of a building and to make payments to the electricity supplier for the used energy.

It gained its MID certificate from the company “SGS” after the production site audit. The certificate is valid through December 24th of 2022 and stays valid subject to an annual audit of the meter’s production site by “SGS” experts.
